Dear Sales Partner;

This Distribution Sales Manual introduces the JUNO?family of WirelessUSB?2.4GHz radio modules. JUNO modules comprise Cypress Semiconductor’s CYWUSB693X 2.4GHz DSSS Radio SOC device silicon and Unigen’s module design, manufacturing, and integrated testing expertise.

What are JUNO Modules?

JUNO WirelessUSB Modules are complete radio solutions. They are tightly integrated, low-cost, highly reliable, and production ready for integration into new or existing device platforms via a standard SPI interface. JUNO modules use the Cypress Semiconductor CYWUSB693X family of 2.4GHz DSSS Radio SOC devices.

Why JUNO Modules?

JUNO Modules are designed, manufactured, and tested take the “guess”work out of adding RF communications to a digital electronic device. Some models include regulatory agency “Modular Approval”, saving OEMs time and money. Easy interconnect options allow an end-device to share both wired and wireless designs on the same device, creating a low cost, build-to-order solution.

What is WirelessUSB?

WirelessUSB, as created by Cypress Semiconductor, is the convergence of 2.4GHz wireless solutions and USB “Plug-N-Play”ease of operation. WirelessUSB is a robust communications protocol created specifically for use in traditional computing devices (keyboards, mice, and game pads), emerging consumer electronic products (PDAs, remote controls, set top boxes), and industrial controls (HVAC, factory line, transportation) needing highly reliable data connectivity.

WirelessUSB offers;

  • High Reliability! Checksum error correction, digital spread-spectrum operation, 128b encryption security, 10, 50, and 1000 meter communications ranges
  • Low Cost! Device connection cost < $5.00, no IP royalties, no software development needed
  • Long Life! Low power operation = battery life of years (2+ in given application
  • Interoperation! Designed and tested to interoperate with existing 2.4GHz wireless solutions, may be co-located with other wireless protocols where applicable.
  • Easy Deployment! Uses existing HID (Human Interface Device) OS drivers, no kernel or applications drivers needed, pre-tested and certified modules for easy adaptation. (Bluetooth? Zig-Bee? offered significantly higher prices.

Sincerely
